Bakery with hand-crafted seasonal pastries, pies and breads

From its roots as a bakery stall at Portland’s bustling outdoor, urban farmers' markets, Baker & Spice has won a following of customers warmed by the quality and taste of the seasonal pastries, pies and breads handcrafted by owner and baker Julie Richardson. Still a fixture at area farmers' markets three days each week, Julie added a bakery in January of 2005 in the bustling SW Portland neighborhood of Hillsdale. Six days a week, customers can linger over pastries and locally roasted coffee, enjoy sandwiches made with farm fresh ingredients layered on artisan bread, and catch a glimpse of the camaraderie and talent of her crew of bakers visible in the bright, open kitchen.
